Our guide will get you ready, step by step, to place your first online order. Here is how we can help!

GETting STARTED!

Before you start, you must know that cannabis has become widely accepted amongst residents in Ventura County and California as a whole. Marijuana is no longer illegal nor is it just for teenagers that want to get high. There is nothing wrong with buying cannabis; Instead, you would be wrong not to try it out. This amazing plant might be the answer to your chronic pain or other conditions you might have been dealing with for a long time! While we will help you get familiar with cannabis, we always recommend contacting your physician to have the proper plan of care. In addition, you want to make sure none of your current medications will have a negative interaction when ingesting weed.

Is cannabis for potheads?

No! That is such a popular misconception. First of all, due to the easy accessibility to buying weed, the demographics of users have completely changed. Secondly, after legalization, people have become more open about it and statistics are starting to truly reflect accurate user demographics. In addition, young professionals and middle-aged users do not smoke at the park as teenagers do for lack of a better option. Lastly, with the boom in the marijuana market, more and more professionals have started to use cannabis in many forms. Some might like to consume infused drinks, some gummies, or other kinds of edibles. These and many other products are so discreet that you wouldn’t even know someone is dosing right in front of you!

Smoking a joint or even having to roll your own weed is no longer required for you to consume cannabis. Cannabis can now be consumed with style and discretion. So, if you thought weed is just for potheads, think again!

1.- Review our Cannabis 101 page and get familiar with the basics

Our Cannabis 101 page is short and very easy to read literature about basic cannabis knowledge. You will get a general idea of the most popular cannabis products available at dispensaries in Ventura County. In addition, you will get familiar with the three types of Cannabis: Sativa, Indica, and Hybrid and their effects on your mind and body. If you are a beginner, we would recommend trying cannabis-infused gummies, disposable vape pens, tinctures, capsules, and topicals. Topicals provide localized relief for pain and inflammation without getting you high. The rest of the above-mentioned categories are available in different strengths and formulations. Nonetheless, they provide a much more accurate way of dosing than smoking flower per se.

Once you find the right dosage for you, all you have to do is stick to it. Your high will always be more pleasant when you know what it will be like. Unfortunately, marijuana dispensaries do not always carry the same products in stock. This is why 805-Cannabis allows you to search by product so we can tell you which dispensary in Oxnard, Ojai, or Port Hueneme has the product in stock. Furthermore, we will display the pricing from all local vendors so that you can compare and save!

2.- review our frequently asked questions for cannabis and CBD

Cannabis FAQs and CBD FAQs pages are an important step on our guide to buying cannabis. These pages will contain the answer to the most frequently asked questions and will help you understand cannabis and CBD better. Cannabis and CBD are two booming industries and new information is available every day. If you come across relevant information not already on our database, please feel free to share it with us.

Please note that while CBD is legal nationwide and can be purchased in any state and online; Cannabis products containing THC are not legal nationwide just yet. THC is the psychoactive compound found in the marijuana plant and is responsible for the head and body high. This compound has not become legal at the federal level. As a result, you should not carry products with THC across state lines. This is why all online orders are legally delivered to local customers by the dispensaries themselves and not through USPS or UPS.

3.- understand the difference between sativa, Indica, and Hybrid strains

This might be one of the most important aspects of cannabis that you should get familiar with. So be sure to read this section before buying weed online. Although the effects depend greatly on the method of ingestions, the main effects will be dependant on the strain. You will notice that all products in our store are classified as CBD, Indica, Sativa, and Hybrid. There is a very good reason for that!

CBD Products

CBD products contain less than 0.3% of THC, the psychoactive compound. Because the amount of THC in CBD products is close to none, you will not get high from CBD products. Depending on the formulation, they can certainly promote relaxation and sleep. However, they will not have mind-altering effects. Marijuana dispensaries in Port Hueneme, Ojai, and Santa Barbara carry CBD products but not very many.

Most dispensaries cater more to users seeking THC products. However, Ventura County is lucky to have Mindful Habits located in Oxnard, CA. Although the city of Oxnard has not awarded licenses for Marijuana Dispensaries, Mindful Habits does not need one since all its products are CBD. They not only have a great variety but they are also really good at having all items in stock. If you find your favorite product at Mindful Habits, most chances are that you will find it in stock every time you visit them.

High CBD Products

High CBD products contain a high amount of CBD and THC. The amount of each will be dependant on the formulation. Some products are more concentrated and contain much higher amounts of each even if the product size is only 15ml or 30ml. There are many formulations available in Ventura County. Items that are high on CBD and THC will usually have a legend displaying the CBD and THC ratio such as 1:1 CBD: THC or 10:1 CBD:THC. This information accurately represents the ratio of CBD to THC. However, it is not an indicator of the actual amount of cannabinoids in each product. Many products will display such information on the label and many times in the item description. Indica Strain

Cannabis Indica plants have broader leaves and a higher growth rate than Sativa plants. As a result, Indica marijuana plants are a more desirable choice for growers. The debate on which strain has more THC is still ongoing, with no end in sight. The only aspect agreed upon by both Indica and Sativa supporters is that the THC level is dependent on the regions where the cannabis is grown.

Promotes mind and body relaxation, decreases pain, and takes away anxiety. Indica dominant strains increase dopamine putting the mind into a restful displacement. Because of its deep relaxation effects, Indica is better consumed at night.

Increases appetite and makes you drowsy. Tends to dry out your mouth, making you thirsty. Indica strains will also make you sleepy which is why they are used as a sleep aid.

Sativa strain

Sativas can be identified by their narrower leaves and lighter color. These plants need more light and take longer to grow. Sativa often produces a “mind high,” or an energizing, anxiety-reducing effect. If you use Sativa-dominant strains, you may feel productive and creative, not relaxed and lethargic. Make sure to consult your budtender at the local marijuana dispensaries to get a suitable strain for you.

Because Sativa-dominant strains increase serotonin, they are a great choice for daytime use. However, If these strains get you too wired, a balanced hybrid blend might be better for you.

Sativa strains can be used for chronic pain, anxiety, and depression. It also keeps you awake. As a result, it will be harder to sleep. This strain will, many times, make your mouth dry making you thirsty.

Hybrid Strain – The best of both worlds!

Hybrid strains are a mix of Indica and Sativa strains. Hybrids are typically classified as Indica-dominant, Sativa-dominant, or balanced. What is so special about Hybrid strains? While Indica and Sativa plants have different effects, Hybrids allow you to experience the effects you like without the ones you don’t.

In addition, the effects of Hybrid strains will vary since they are a cross of strains. This means that the effects are created by the two different parent strains. How do you know what to choose? You have to try a few blends and see what works best for you. Your budtender can always help to point you in the right direction.

Hybrid Blends will allow you to choose the effects you want. They are also great for any time use! Their benefits range from reducing anxiety and stress to easing symptoms of chemotherapy or radiation.
